ABOUT BBMP

BBMP (BRUHAT BENGALURU MAHANAGARA PALIKE)

is the municipal corporation for Bengaluru city. It is defined as an LUB (Local Urban Body) as per the Constitution of India, in whom is vested, the governance of our city. One of the major responsibilities of BBMP, is the maintenance and improvement of civic amenities such as roads, footpaths, drains, parks, etc., which are so crucial for the city.

BBMP is run by a council of elected representatives, called the BBMP Council.

BBMP Elections, held every 5 years, elect a ‘corporator’ from each of the 198 wards (smaller units/localities into which the city is divided for the purpose of effective administration of Bengaluru city). Corporator candidates are typically affiliated with either a state or national political party.

These 198 elected corporators, jointly form the BBMP council which administers governance to Bengaluru city.

People wonder, how does a fledgling political party like BNP fight and win against big parties like BJP, Congress and JDS? Our answer to this is the Power of the people!

Now you may ask, how does this abstract power of people actually work? Allow us to illustrate – Based on the last BBMP election data, in a three-way contest, in 60% of the wards the winning candidate received around 6500-7000 votes. This figure may look big but we can achieve it with the simple formula of ‘Power of 3’. If today we start with 1 supporter in a ward and they get 3 supporters, and those 3 get 3 each and so on, by the 7th level we would essentially be in a position to win 60% of Bengaluru’s wards.

This is not as simple as it sounds but it is not as difficult either, it only takes one responsible citizen like YOU to start this cycle and set the ball in motion.

One last step. Help us to track your application status by filling in this Google Form We will be happy to assist further.

Once EPIC card number (Voter id #) is available, 

  1. Log on to https://electoralsearch.in/ to get Voter Information details like Part Number, Serial Number etc.
  2. Download e-EPIC in NVSP Portal.

Please register in https://www.nvsp.in and use e-EPIC Download option to download the e-copy of voter id (election team needs to enable the option to download).

Along with having a Voter Id card, its equally important to ensure that our name gets listed in the electoral rolls.

  • Visit https://www.ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in/
  • Click on Draft Electoral Rolls -SSR-2022
  • Select correct District → District Name → Assembly Constituency Name → Select Correct Part Number
  • Part Number will be listed in the voter information
  • Download the file for that Part number and check if the names are listed.
