Program Impact

BNP launched the Lekka Beku campaign, filing 5000+ RTI applications to get BBMP to publish audited accounts, culminating in the Rally for Bengaluru 2020. This evolved into BRIGHT Platform, a digital platform where citizens can view ward budgets and track spending transparently. Hundreds of Bengaluru residents now use BRIGHT Platform to monitor their ward’s funds and hold local representatives accountable.

Problem Being Solved

• BBMP ward budgets were opaque, with citizens unable to track how funds were spent.
• Lack of transparency and accountability allowed misuse or underutilization of public money.
• Ordinary citizens had no easy way to participate in financial decision-making.
