Program Impact

Started as Lekka Beku, BNP filed 5,000+ RTIs to get BBMP to publish audited accounts, culminating in the Rally for Bengaluru 2020. This evolved into BRIGHT, a digital platform where citizens can view ward budgets and track spending transparently. Hundreds of Bengaluru residents now use BRIGHT to monitor their ward’s funds and hold local representatives accountable.

Problem Being Solved

• BBMP ward budgets were opaque, with citizens unable to track how funds were spent.
• Lack of transparency and accountability allowed misuse or underutilization of public money.
• Ordinary citizens had no easy way to participate in financial decision-making.
